Welcome to the first edition of Rough Draft, a newsletter for unfinished electronic music. I’ve included links to three tracks this week, as well as some details about what kind of feedback each artist is looking for. Listen, enjoy, and if something catches your ear, reply to this email with your thoughts. Each track is hosted privately on SoundCloud, so if you’d prefer to leave comments there, you are welcome to as well.
If you’re interested in submitting a draft of your own music to the newsletter, reply to this email and say hello, or email me a link to your music directly.
Anyways, let’s get started.

Hezarpa — “Ob”
This track is a soundscape that gradually evolves into a slow, subdued beat with lush synth work and complex rhythmic backing. Hezarpa is an Atlanta-based duo. They’ve asked for feedback specifically around mixing, and for thoughts on additional parts that might make the track sound more balanced. Listen here.Well Being — “Pink Crystal”
Pink Crystal is a bright, dub-influenced track that leans on meticulous sound mixing and synthesized textures to create its steady, head-nodding flow. Well Being is a Brooklyn-based producer and is looking for general feedback and gut reactions. Listen here.Decelerate — “Memory Leak”
Full of spaced out reverb, punch breaks, and layers of sharp acid riffs, Memory Leak is dancefloor-focused and the heaviest track on this week’s lineup. Decelerate is a Brooklyn-based producer and is looking for mixing feedback. Listen here.
Coming up with meaningful feedback can be tricky. If you’re stuck, that’s ok — an honest compliment is equally appreciated. If you do have feedback, remember to keep it constructive and focused on making the music better rather than different.
That’s it for now. Thanks again for listening, and see you soon.
